Youtube Video. The Introduction to my new animation: "The Way We Were".
A coming-of-age drama set in Nebraska during the early 1970's following Danny
McGuire and his family.
A quick pistol test animation for a custom built weapon for Doom 3 which I made.
This was a zombie walk-cycle for an RTS style survival game that was in a similar
style to XCOM. This walk-cycle is for wandering zombies which are idle.
Game Animation
I studied animation at University in Wrexham and this is
the area were I hold my degree with honours. Here is a small
sample of animation work that I have completed over the
years.
The Virus anims are a series of character animations that I
completed for a Real Time Strategy game in the style of the
Xcom series. The animations were basic character rigs with
low bone counts with a 2-vert per bone weight limit.
The Cat cycle was an environmental animation for a game
on the PS2 while working for Mere-mortals. Sadly the cat
animation was never used and was a basic forward kinematic
rig.
The 2 Sprite animations are the character animations I made
for the game 'BaseRunner' which can be downloaded off this
site.
The 'walk cycle IK' is a simple walk cycle animation and
advanced control rig example.
The 'Cartoon rig example' is a character rig I created in Maya
using reverse foot-lock setup, channel box driven keys and
spline handles that control IK handle chains.
Youtube Video. These are a series of spell effects I have created for an up and
coming game called Lustre for the iphone and ipod Touch which will be on the
iTunes store very shortly.
A walk cycle for the lead character in a game concept in the style of Another
World or Flashback.
A cat animation using Forward Kinematics only for a PS2 game.
This is my current animation project, a short film called
"The Grand Escapade" set in the 1920's.
It follows a man living inside an iron lung haunted my
strange alien music within the hospital (The Saint
Thaddeus). He recounts how he escaped hell and how
he became trapped there.
This is part 1 of 3 so please stay tuned - it is being
hosted on Youtube for easy viewing and can be
played at 720p HD.
More to come...
